Part 22

Vincent's two weeks was very productive. He had a good visit with his brother, sister in law, and niece. He even made a few bucks at the music festivals.

His niece and sister in law were due to come by later today to see about feminizing his house a bit, but for now he was down at his studio working on one of his songs. He pretty much had the notes and melodies for the pan pipes, but wanted to include some violin. After several playbacks he was frustrated. It was not quite right. OK, it was not perfect. He wanted his muse but she was not here, so he tried to picture her riding while he waltzed around the studio. Vince sighed and sat back down at the soundboard. He closed his eyes and again tried to visualize his fairy pixey.

He was woken up by a loud knocking. Damn, he must have fallen asleep.

“Uncle Vince?” The knocking continued.

His head shot up causing considerable pain from the humongous crick in his neck. Ow, he thought, rubbing the back of his neck.

His niece came in and said, “Mom’s looking for you.”

OK,” Vince said, slowly standing. He put up his violin and followed his niece out the door, locking it behind him.

They went in the front door and he heard from upstairs, “Shae, did you find him?”

“Yes Mom,” Shae responded.

Vince made his way to the couch and sat down hanging his head over the back. He could hear his sister in law’s footsteps coming down the stairs.

“Vincent,” she said matter of factly.

“Fiona,” Vince responded.

She sat next to him on the couch, patted a thigh and asked, “So what am I here to help you with?” Fiona paused a moment looking at her brother in law. He looked so tired.

“Shae, sweetheart, could you go make your Uncle some coffee?”

“Sure Mom.”

“Vincent,” she said again only softer.

“Fiona, I was wondering if you could help me make it a bit better for a female. You know, a carpet or drapes or something.”

“You found yourself a girl?’ she asked with a bit too much incredulousness in her voice. Her brother in law rarely dated. The whole family was hoping he would find somebody eventually. But the older he got the more time he spent alone.

“Sure. I’ll help you. So this room or are you looking to fix a bedroom upstairs?’

“No, I like the intimacy of this set up. Right now, I don’t want to pay to heat all that up there. I was thinking of adding some large rugs or carpets. This stone floor gets cold. Right now the bathroom and kitchen are fine.”

“Well, that sounds like something I can do. Do you want to come with me or give me money and Shae and I can go?”

“I trust you Fiona. Here is my credit card. Try for a good deal.”

“No problem Vincent. Shae?”

“Yes Mom?” she replied as she handed her Uncle a cup of coffee.

“I’m ready to go."

“OK.”

So with that Fiona and Shae left. And Vincent fell back asleep on the couch.
